On the 24th of November students at the University of Essex went into occupation of their educational facilities against national government cuts to education and tripled tuition fees. This action forced a meeting with the Vice-Chancellor of the university, who proceeded to dodge the students’ frustrated questioning and eventually showed his hand as fully complicit in implementing the cuts, also refusing to co-operate with any student or staff resistance. Unhappy with this response, the students remained in occupation overnight, and picketed the lecture theatre the next day raising awareness among others of the extent of the attacks on education.

This is just the beginning..
